As a painter, I have studied mixed media using acrylic paint, fabric, photo collage and oil paint. Exploring encaustic paint was a learning curve of pliability, paint delivery and texture.

Being an artist is always an adventure and always a learning experience. Once a formula is settled on, one is no longer creative. Formulas are needed to be a continued financial success and that makes it very hard to continue being creative. Sometimes, I am financially successful and sometimes I am not. That is a good thing though not perhaps in the eyes of the art industry.

Does it matter? Look at the work and make up your own mind. Because your connection/disconnection with the paintings is all that should matter to you.
